You have "done" all the "don'ts" normally glorified in many haiku-circles ~ Lyrical quality, alliteration, animism, use of gerund: all in one Haiku. But Robert you know your way and made an exotic ku. well done!

The rules that I have broken are rules that Americans have made up that do not agree with the way Issa, Basho, Buson, etc viewed life and composed haiku. Basho and others were animists, and wrote with a lyrical quality, although in translation, this doesn't always come across. Again, thank you. robert wilson

Surely Robert. they are ignorant rules expounded by Americans. I am an Indian and I have "myriad animisms" and "lyrical poetry/music" in our multi-lingual tradition(s). I am also a Indian classical musician. I had read only Japanese Haiku translations when i wrote my haiku. Honestly, I did not even know so much Haiku was written in English.In fact most American Haiku look truncated[ self-consciusly minimalized] and often even highly pretentious to my taste. I request you to read about our site and what we are trying to do if you have not already done so. Please Check "the Haiga" I have made in the Haiga section.[ "Divine lyric freedom and delight" is what we consider Haiku also Is. ]. Thank you Robert ~ More Haiku please!

Just for the sake of argument .... . blossoms, in Japanese haiku, always mean the .. Yes Gabi san,I have read about that. But it was the "western-unhaiku" qualities that are under discussion.
