a small-time businessman aiming, aspiring to be big-time has the mobile phone padded to his ears from time zero the journey to Kochi from Calicut, past green paddy fields, rivers past slumbering villages, bustling towns, neatly uniformed school children this could have been a dream journey, but for his 'mobile' antics first he calls his wife, all honeyed words (he'd better!) to his friends he drops names, eight-figured sums the voice rising, rasping, accusing - a luckless employee! and then he himself at the receiving end, cringing - a client bulldozes finaly, nature takes its due, even he is spent, eyes closed but yet, no respite for us: he snores - a buffalo in the coach? |
